- Up to 1 in 2 women have experienced intimate partner violence in several Pacific Island countries. Violence against women remains widespread.
- Severe aid cuts for Pacific NationsThe Pacific is the world’s most aid-dependent region, now facing major aid cuts. HIV and vaccination programs in Fiji and Papua New Guinea are among those affected.
- Pacific leaders have committed to actionIn May 2026, Pacific Police Ministers agreed to promote coordinated law enforcement, health and social responses. They agreed police should target transnational criminal syndicates and strengthen lawful access to drug treatment and harm reduction services.
- Our biggest challenge: bringing Pacific people to the tableThe voices that matter most are often the least able to attend. Many Pacific practitioners and community members cannot cover the cost of travel and registration.
